PM Shehbaz vows to prioritize overseas Pakistanis’ issues, enhance investment opportunities

ISLAMABAD, Monday, April 21, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to resolving the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis on a priority basis and expanding facilities available to them.

Chairing a special meeting focused on matters concerning expatriates, the prime minister said overseas Pakistanis would be provided tailored investment opportunities aligned with their areas of expertise.

Describing overseas Pakistanis as “ambassadors of Pakistan” abroad, Prime Minister Shehbaz praised their significant contributions to the country, noting their dedication and hard work across diverse fields.

“A large number of overseas Pakistanis participated in the recently held convention, which reflects their confidence in the government’s policies,” he said. “We salute the patriotic sentiments, love, and sacrifices of our overseas community.”

Highlighting their achievements, the prime minister said expatriates had brought pride to Pakistan through their professionalism in sectors such as medicine, education, engineering, and consultancy.

Recognizing their efforts, the government recently announced a substantial package of incentives for overseas Pakistanis, he added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz further announced that expatriates who have excelled in various fields, as well as those who sent the highest remittances through the State Bank of Pakistan, would be honored with civil awards for their services.

The meeting was also briefed on the progress regarding the implementation of the recently announced facilities and the strategy to ensure their timely delivery.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, federal ministers, and senior officials were present at the meeting.
