PM Shehbaz visits CMH, pays tribute to martyrs of ‘Ma’arka-e-Haq’

RAWALPINDI, Friday, May 16, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to inquire after the health of Pakistan Army personnel and civilians injured during Ma’arka-e-Haq (Battle of Truth) against India.

Accompanied by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, the prime minister met with the injured and commended their remarkable courage, resilience, and dedication to duty.

“The way the Pakistan Armed Forces and the people stood together in this war is unmatched,” the prime minister remarked, adding that the nation’s steadfast resolve had become a defining chapter in the country’s military history.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also visited the residence of Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf Shaheed, who laid down his life during the recent Ma’arka-e-Haq operation. The premier extended heartfelt condolences to the martyr’s father and other family members.

Offering Fateha, the prime minister prayed for the elevation of the martyr’s rank in paradise and expressed profound sympathy with the bereaved family, acknowledging their strength and sacrifice.

Paying homage to the fallen hero, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the entire nation takes immense pride in the ultimate sacrifice made by Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf while defending the homeland.
