
ISLAMABAD, Monday, June 23, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday night held a telephone conversation with Nawaf bin Said Al Malki, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to discuss the escalating tensions in the Middle East following reports of a missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar allegedly launched by Iran.
Expressing deep concern over the development, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the urgent need to de-escalate tensions and restore calm in the region. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace and stability and underscored Islamabad’s readiness to work in close coordination with Riyadh to intensify diplomatic efforts toward a peaceful resolution.
“This situation demands restraint, dialogue, and a collective push for peace,” the prime minister noted, reiterating Pakistan’s longstanding role as a proponent of regional harmony.
Ambassador Al Malki thanked the prime minister for his timely outreach and concern, acknowledging the significance of Pakistan’s role in promoting stability in the Middle East. He agreed that both countries must remain in close coordination and continue their joint efforts to pursue a peaceful settlement of the growing crisis.
The conversation highlighted the deep-rooted strategic partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and their shared commitment to confronting regional challenges through dialogue and diplomacy.
