PM Shehbaz, President Zardari discuss security, economy & political stability

ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, July 15, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday called on President Asif Ali Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, where the two leaders held an in-depth discussion on the prevailing political, security, and economic situation of the country.

The meeting focused on the overall law and order situation, with special emphasis on the ongoing measures against terrorism and internal security threats.

Prime Minister Shehbaz briefed the president on the government’s economic initiatives, including reforms and development strategies aimed at stabilizing and revitalizing Pakistan’s economy.

Both leaders reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to work jointly for the stability, development, and prosperity of Pakistan, pledging close coordination between the presidency and the federal government.

The high-level meeting was also attended by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah, underscoring the strategic significance of the consultation.

The engagement comes at a time when the government is navigating complex national challenges, including economic recovery and counterterrorism operations, requiring unified leadership and coordinated policy implementation.
