ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, July 8, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday paid heartfelt tribute to renowned philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi on his 9th death anniversary, lauding his lifelong commitment to serving humanity.

In his message, the prime minister described Edhi as a “priceless national asset” whose legacy of compassion transcended borders.

“Abdul Sattar Edhi set an unparalleled example of selfless service to humanity,” Prime Minister Shehbaz said. “He devoted his entire life to caring for the sick, the abandoned, and the destitute—not only in Pakistan but across the world.”

The prime minister urged the nation to remember and emulate Edhi’s values of humility, service, and empathy, adding that his humanitarian spirit continues to inspire generations.

Abdul Sattar Edhi, founder of the Edhi Foundation, passed away on July 8, 2016. Widely regarded as one of Pakistan’s greatest humanitarians, his legacy lives on through one of the largest volunteer ambulance networks and a broad range of social welfare services he established across the country.
