LAHORE, Monday, March 2, 2026 (WNP): A violent confrontation between a male and a female lawyer erupted inside the Lahore High Court Bar Association premises on Monday, with video footage showing the altercation spreading as some fellow lawyers filmed the incident rather than intervened.

The clash reportedly took place during heightened tensions surrounding the ongoing Lahore High Court Bar Association elections, where factional rivalry has led to heated exchanges.

The episode, captured on mobile phones and widely shared on social media, shows shouting, abusive language and physical pushing between the two advocates inside the court complex.

In one widely circulated video clip, the female lawyer is seen throwing an object toward the male lawyer before he physically retaliates. Minutes later, at least two male lawyers also engage in a separate physical scuffle nearby. Many of those present appear to be making videos of the chaos rather than attempting to stop the violence.

Social media users reacted with shock and criticism, questioning the conduct of legal professionals within one of the country’s top judicial institutions and expressing concern about decorum and discipline in the legal fraternity. “These are the people who defend us in court?” one commenter wrote, while others called for accountability and disciplinary action by bar authorities.

At the time of reporting, the administration of the Lahore High Court had not issued an official statement on the incident or announced any action against the lawyers involved. The episode has further intensified scrutiny over the conduct of bar elections and the need for greater professional discipline within the legal community.
