ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, July 30, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s enduring partnership with the World Economic Forum (WEF) and expressed his government’s commitment to expanding collaboration in key development areas, including economic growth, gender inclusion, vocational training, and digital transformation.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Saadia Zahidi, Managing Director and Member of the Managing Board of the WEF, who called on the prime minister at the PM House.
Welcoming the WEF delegation, the prime minister appreciated the Forum’s continued engagement with Pakistan, particularly through its annual meetings in Davos, and emphasized Pakistan’s strong economic recovery over the past few years.
“Pakistan is keen to build on its partnership with the World Economic Forum to advance inclusive and sustainable development,” the prime minister said.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted ongoing reform initiatives and shared his government’s vision for leveraging the WEF platform to promote innovation, skills development, and opportunities for women and youth.
In response, Saadia Zahidi lauded Pakistan’s positive economic trajectory and commended the reform measures taken under the prime minister’s leadership. She assured the Forum’s support for Pakistan’s development agenda and acknowledged its growing role in regional economic cooperation.
“We recognize the significant strides Pakistan has made, and we are eager to deepen this relationship in areas of shared priority,” Zahidi said.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing strategic cooperation between Pakistan and the WEF, aiming to foster global partnerships that can accelerate Pakistan’s path toward resilience, sustainability, and prosperity.
