RAWALPINDI, Monday, May 05, 2025 (WNP): Pakistan on Monday successfully conducted a training launch of the Fatah Series surface-to-surface missile with a range of 120 kilometers, further strengthening its defense capabilities under the ongoing military exercise “Ex-INDUS,” the military’s media wing said.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the launch was aimed at validating key technical parameters, including the missile’s advanced navigation system, terminal guidance technology, and enhanced precision. The exercise also sought to ensure the operational readiness of Pakistan Army troops.
Senior military officials, along with scientists and engineers from Pakistan’s strategic organizations, witnessed the training launch. The missile’s trajectory mode and guidance system enable it to evade enemy anti-ballistic defenses, making it a highly effective precision-guided weapon.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chief of Army Staff extended their congratulations to all participants, reaffirming their full confidence in the Pakistan Army’s capability to defend the country’s territorial integrity.
President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the nation on the successful launch, lauding the efforts of scientists, engineers, and security forces. He reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to maintaining a strong and secure defense posture.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement from the PM Office, praised the strategic leadership and technical teams for their accomplishment, stating: “The successful training launch clearly demonstrates that Pakistan’s defense is in strong and capable hands.”
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also hailed the launch as a “remarkable achievement,” describing it as a proud moment for Pakistan. “This success reflects the relentless hard work, dedication, and expertise of our scientific and defense communities,” he said. “It demonstrates Pakistan’s growing technological capabilities and our commitment to ensuring national security.”
Naqvi further acknowledged the role of Pakistan’s strategic institutions and armed forces in fortifying national defense, calling their efforts the foundation of an “impregnable” security framework and a source of regional stability.
The successful launch of the Fatah missile marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s defense program, showcasing its technological advancements and unwavering resolve to maintain credible deterrence in a volatile regional environment.
