ISLAMABAD, Tuesday, July 29, 2025 (WNP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday received a high-level delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic, led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov, as both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening multifaceted bilateral cooperation.
The visiting delegation is in Islamabad for the 5th Session of the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Intergovernmental Commission (IGC), aimed at expanding collaboration in trade, energy, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.
Welcoming the Kyrgyz delegation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the successful conclusion of the IGC session. He lauded the signing of the official protocol and a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) as concrete steps toward a more robust and diversified partnership.
“These agreements pave the way for stronger cooperation across strategic sectors, particularly trade, energy, and regional connectivity,” the Prime Minister noted, emphasizing Pakistan’s strong commitment to swiftly implementing the IGC’s decisions.
He stressed the importance of timely follow-up to ensure that the agreements deliver tangible outcomes benefiting both nations.
Deputy Chairman Edil Baisalov acknowledged Pakistan’s proactive role in deepening bilateral ties and expressed confidence that the outcomes of the IGC would translate into more result-oriented cooperation in the months ahead.
Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to enhance coordination at all levels and to work closely for the mutual benefit of their peoples—marking a promising chapter in Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations.
