ISLAMABAD, Sunday, August 03, 2025 (WNP): Pakistan is set to dispatch a dedicated relief flight carrying 100 tons of essential humanitarian aid to Gaza on Monday from Islamabad International Airport.

Organized under the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the consignment includes 65 tons of canned food, 20 tons of dry and infant milk, 5 tons of biscuits, and 10 tons of critical medicines. This flight forms the first half of a broader 200-ton aid initiative coordinated through two chartered planes.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan and humanitarian partners, is overseeing the operation. The send-off ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, NDMA Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik, the Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan, representatives of Al-Khidmat Foundation, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced that with this flight, Pakistan’s cumulative humanitarian assistance to Gaza now totals 1,715 tons, comprising 17 separate consignments. He said the upcoming second chartered flight will raise the total to 1,815 tons.

“These sustained relief efforts are a testament to Pakistan’s unshakable commitment to the people of Palestine,” Dar noted. “We will continue expanding our support as the humanitarian situation evolves, in partnership with national and international NGOs.”

He also praised NDMA’s effective coordination and acknowledged the significant contributions of the Al-Khidmat Foundation and other humanitarian partners working to provide life-saving aid.

The Palestinian Ambassador, while expressing deep gratitude, thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their timely and unwavering support to the war-affected people of Gaza.

Pakistan’s aid efforts underline its enduring moral, political, and humanitarian backing for the Palestinian cause, reaffirming that the bond between the two peoples remains rooted in empathy, brotherhood, and shared struggles.
