Federal Interior Minister, Balochistan CM vow justice for fallen personnel after deadly attack in Quetta

QUETTA, Saturday, January 31, 2026 (WNP): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday arrived in Quetta to review the prevailing law and order situation and held high-level consultations with provincial authorities following a recent terrorist incident that claimed the lives of security personnel.

Accompanied by Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the interior minister visited the Police Lines in Quetta, where they attended the funeral prayers of the martyrs who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Senior civil and security officials were also present to pay their respects.

The federal interior minister and the chief minister later met the bereaved families of the martyrs, offering condolences and expressing solidarity. During the interaction, Chief Minister Bugti became emotional as he assured the families that the sacrifices of their loved ones would never be forgotten.

“Our martyrs’ sacrifices will never go in vain,” Chief Minister Bugti said, paying tribute to the fallen personnel. “Our brave security officials confronted the terrorists with courage and unwavering resolve. The state has always stood with the oppressed and will continue to do so.”

He described martyrdom as a supreme sacrifice, stating that those who laid down their lives in the path of duty would be honoured in this world and the hereafter. “The martyrs will rise alongside the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Their sacrifice is immense, and the people of Balochistan are deeply indebted to them,” he said.

Reaffirming the government’s resolve, the chief minister assured the families that justice would be ensured. “I promise the heirs of the martyrs that every single drop of blood will be accounted for. The families should remain steadfast and patient,” he added.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid rich tribute to the martyrs, praising the courage and resilience of the people of Balochistan and the security forces. “Our brave personnel conducted a strong and effective operation against the terrorists,” he said.

“The sacrifices of the martyrs are unforgettable, and the entire nation salutes them.”

The visit and consultations underscored the federal and provincial governments’ joint commitment to restoring peace, strengthening security measures, and bringing the perpetrators of terrorism to justice, while standing firmly with the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
