NEW YORK, Thursday, June 19, 2025 (WNP): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), on Thursday held an inspiring meeting with Saima Saleem, a visually impaired diplomat serving in Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, and praised her exceptional contributions to the country’s diplomacy.
Despite her visual impairment, Saima Saleem has earned widespread recognition for her unwavering dedication and remarkable work on the global stage. The Army Chief commended her resilience, intellect, and steadfast commitment to promoting Pakistan’s interests at international forums.
Describing her as a role model for the nation, particularly for persons with disabilities, the COAS said Saima’s journey was a powerful testament to human willpower and national pride. During the meeting, Saima Saleem briefed the Army Chief on her diplomatic work at the United Nations and the challenges facing Pakistan on the international front.
