President, Field Marshal discuss national security amid rising border tensions

ISLAMABAD, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 (WNP):  President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday met with Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, at Aiwan-e-Sadr to discuss the overall internal and external security situation of the country.

During the meeting, Field Marshal Munir briefed the President on the prevailing national security environment, particularly the situation stemming from the aggressive and provocative actions of the Afghan Taliban regime. He also informed the President about the measured and effective response undertaken by the Pakistan Armed Forces to safeguard the country’s borders and maintain stability.

President Zardari expressed complete confidence in the capability, professionalism, and readiness of Pakistan’s Armed Forces to defend the nation against any threat. He praised their valour, vigilance, and swift action in repelling cross-border incursions and ensuring the protection of national frontiers.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering resolve, the President stated that the country would defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs, emphasizing that peace and stability in the region remain Pakistan’s foremost priority, but any act of aggression would be met with a firm and resolute response.
