ISLAMABAD, Saturday, September 13, 2025 (WNP): Pakistan’s security forces eliminated 35 terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between September 10 and 13, while 12 soldiers embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
According to ISPR, the first operation was carried out in Bajaur District on confirmed intelligence reports of terrorist presence. Security forces engaged the hideout and, after an intense exchange of fire, 22 terrorists were killed. In a separate encounter in South Waziristan, 13 more terrorists were neutralized.
During the firefight, 12 soldiers of the Pakistan Army fought gallantly and laid down their lives for the motherland. The martyred soldiers were hailed as the “brave sons of soil” who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the nation.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists, who were reportedly sponsored from abroad and actively involved in numerous terrorist activities across the region. Intelligence assessments have also confirmed the involvement of Afghan nationals in these attacks, raising serious concerns over the continued use of Afghan soil against Pakistan.
“Pakistan expects the Interim Afghan Government to uphold its responsibilities and ensure its territory is not used for terrorist activities against Pakistan,” the ISPR statement said.
Sanitization operations are continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorist presence. The military reaffirmed that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s troops only strengthen the nation’s resolve to wipe out terrorism and safeguard peace.
